Artist's Comments
I shot this one when I was down in Victoria last weekend for a good friend's wedding.
I am unsure what it is to be honest, I am thinking it is an immature Eastern Spinebill (Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris). I think the only other possible choice is a Little Friarbird. If anyone knows, please tell me.
All, I can say is that it's unlike any of the native birds in my area. It's a wonderful shot, and I hope you can find out its species. If you're really curious about it, and no one here knows you could probably email a picture of it to your local university with a biology (ornithology) department.
