Gunning is a small country town in New South Wales, about an hour's drive from Canberra.

196 towns in New South Wales each year hold a rural or agricultural show over a weekend. This weekend was the Gunning Rural Show, where all things rural are showcased to the surrounding community. In these small country towns, it is most likely the highlight of the year, and a great community get-together.

I thought I would take my new tripod for a visit and photograph something different for a change :-)

Yay showday! Did you grab me a showbag? Dagwood Dog? Fairy Floss?
Nice shot Ms Z, I do like the crispness of the foreground and the way that the lack of detail in the background draws attention to the front.

My notoriety precedes me only because those that love me choose to make it so.
That's a fine looking horse that is :D

I like how the background is all blurred so it doesn't take the attention away. I should try do that too :aww:

Baby cheetah!
I love how the horse/rider in the foreground is in focus and just entering the picture while the rest is a little out of focus. What a gorgeous picture!

You are so not going to believe this Mr Shadow - it was the crappiest show in earth - NO showbags, NO dagwood dogs (not that I care unless it was a vegie dog!), NO fairy floss....what kind of dumb ass show is that?! :faint: I had a cup of coffee and that was it! Who ever heard of a show without showbags? And, they only had two rides, neither of which was operating - an old crappy dodgem cars and a Cha Cha older than me :fear: Must have been a bigger show on somewhere else with all the good stuff. Still, it was fun, something different. Very different :p
